March 1, 2010For those who do not know, Charlotte is broken into 4 Wards. These wards have been formed from former election districts. Over the next couple month’s, we will tell you a little bit of information on each one. East of the intersection of Trade & Tryon lays “First Ward”.
Currently, First Ward is experiencing a boom of condo development, primarily due to the large amount of young, single professionals moving into the area. These young influentials crave the urban residential experience. This is causing the amount of retirees living in the area to decrease.
Popular condo developments in First Ward include Courtside & the Enclave.
Also found in the First Ward is the Levine Museum of the New South, Time Warner Cable Arena, which hosts several events, including Charlotte Hornets, Charlotte Checkers, and concerts bi-weekly. Additionally, you can find the Main Brance of the Public Library, ImaginOn, and the Ritz Carlton.
