Charlotte Realtors

Stop by the Henderson Properties booth, spin our wheel, and win prizes!

Come join in the fun at the annual Charlotte Regional Realtor® Association Candidate Fish Fry!  It all begins at 4pm on Sept. 19th and goes until 7pm.  This great family event will take place in the association parking lot (1136 Greenwood Cliff).

Enjoy a variety of exhibitors for a fun night of food, drinks, prizes, and music with the Realtor® family, candidates, and elected officials.  It’s due to be a beautiful, fall Carolina night to take in some time with friends and family.  You can join the discussion on those issues facing the real estate industry today, and visit with exhibitors to hear about great real estate-related services and products for your business.  A variety of great prizes are also to be won!

Members and children under 6 are FREE for this event.  Members’ guests are $15 in advance and $25 at the door.

Just as years past, a school-supply drive to support A Child’s Place (ACP) will take place by the Diversity Council.

ACP, started by a group of women in 1989, began when they noticed a group of children playing in a downtown Charlotte cemetery. The women questioned them on why they were not in school, and it turned out they were not allowed to attend since none had a permanent address. From there, the women started to school 27 children in a one room schoolhouse supported by a teacher from CMS and First Presbyterian Church. At this time in 1989, the McKinney-Vento Act was passed. This piece of legislation protects the educational rights of homeless children and delivers them the necessities needed for a proper education. Since the first class was held, ACP has increased its reach and helped 2,656 homeless children during the 2012-2013 school year.

This charitable event strives to erase the impact homelessness has on a child’s education.  You can help ensure another successful drive by bringing a variety of school supplies to this year’s Fish Fry entrance.  By donating, you will be entered into a special drawing for a free CE class.  A list of needed items can be found here.

The night will be filled with fun, food, beer, and live music!
