Asheville, NC is a beautiful city in the mountains of North Carolina. Many people reside there and still, others come every year to visit. There is so much to see and do in Asheville as they have a wonderful historic downtown area that is filled with endless shops, restaurants and nightlife. The Biltmore Estate also resides in Asheville which is the largest privately-owned home in the United States. The Biltmore Estate itself is definitely a sight to see. Asheville also has the University of North Carolina at Asheville which is an excellent college in the North Carolina university system. Many people will travel to Asheville to stay at one of the beautiful inns or bed and breakfasts, shop, sightsee, dine and of course, ski and snowboard. In fact, so many people wish to live in Asheville as it truly has something for everyone. Many residents do live in Asheville and will commute a few miles outside of the city for work. With so much to see and do, Asheville is difficult to dislike!
Boone, NC is also located in the mountains of North Carolina and is almost two hours away from Asheville with a completely different look and feel. The town is the home of Appalachian State University which is another wonderful university in North Carolina. There are many beautiful towns right outside of Boone as well. Boone, NC has a spectacular downtown area lined with shops and restaurants galore. Although university students reside in Boone, many residents live here or own a mountain home in Boone or right outside of Boone. Boone has become a popular place to both live and visit. Between the sightseeing, outlet shopping, dining and fun activities such as white water rafting, skiing and snowboarding, what more could you possibly ask for?
