1. December 2: Tree Lighting Ceremony in Uptown Charlotte. Charlotte is holding the 2nd annual tree lighting ceremony uptown. There will be performances, music and beautiful lights for all to see! Bring friends and family and enjoy the beginning of the holidays together.
2. December 12: Afternoon Holiday Tea at the Ritz Carlton. Remember tea parties when you were a child? Think about it now and imagine a high-end, adult spin on it. The Ritz Carlton is a prestigious hotel chain that is known throughout the world for its flawless reputation. Holiday tea, finger sandwiches, scones, and other treats prepared by the chefs will be served in the beautiful Ritz Carlton living room on the 15th floor in uptown Charlotte. Choose to go with your friends or bring your children! It’s $30 per adult and $10 per child.
3. December 18: Take a trip to the Farmer’s Market! The weekend before Christmas can be stressful. But maybe shopping at the local farmers market will soothe your soul. Need something to serve for your holiday dinner or perhaps you are looking for fresh flowers to decorate with? Atherton Market is located within Atherton Mills which is a shopping center in South End providing retailers and restaurants. If you can’t make it on the 18th, remember that the farmers market is open every Saturday morning from 9 am – 2 pm!
4. December 19: Panthers vs. Cardinals Football Game It may be cold outside but nothing can stop most football fans from game day! As football season is nearing the end, try to enjoy the rest of it when the Carolina Panthers take on the Arizona Cardinals. Embrace one of America’s favorite past times and take pleasure in tailgating and watching football before the holidays!
5. December 21: 23rd Annual Toys for Tots Holiday Party. Icehouse in South End is holding a huge holiday party that you simply cannot miss. Eat, drink and be merry while giving to a good cause. A $10 donation will go toward the U.S. Marines “Toys for Tots” charity. There will be a band, cash bar and much more! What a fun, eventful and productive way to spend your holiday!
